Director’s note

This performance consists of a series of small stories talking about a certain resistance to the emptiness and oblivion. Declension of power situations, from the smallest to the biggest, where one has nothing and the other just a little bit more. Lively and vigorous children and adults become characters hanging on life with spite, humour and despair.

You find the lonely and independent refusing any kind of authority, the servile, those who stick more or less to an elderly to gain a certain comfort and those who are hesitating – it’s the eternal tale of the wolf and the dog. Sometimes, you also find friendship or complicity in situations where everybody comes together in a kind of trivial party after a specially fructuous plundering where they can evoke the past and laugh over the " well-off ".

Christiane Véricel

“On stage fragments of metal, makeshift cans, wild land and ruins, mark out a track, with projectors as a background, where children, adults and teenagers, try to fight their way to survive, tearing down goods, clothes and money, and living from  barter and burglary, desperately clinging on to life with spite and  humour. Addio Mamma is a universal and poetical tale. This show explores serious topical subjects through a dynamic acting and a voluntary play form. But there is also, in the background, a lot of friendship, of complicity between characters, gathering around an oldest, giving a trivial party that suddenly reveals, through dancing, each comedian’s culture bursting on stage. »
