Where ?

Prague 11: stop in Chodov, terminus line C, 40 minutes at the south west of the historical centre, everybody gets off the bus.

Prague 11: periphery, huge suburbs on either side of the ring road.

Prague 11: run-down buildings, dull surrounding atmosphere as you can imagine in the worse of clichés.

Prague 11: a shopping mall as unique public space and an icy business centre.

Prague 11: middle class residential suburbs… here is poverty out of place; our clichés are changing… Europe also starts here.

Prague 11: Czech suburb, with a discrete Vietnamese community, not to say invisible, an orphanage, blocks of flats as far as the eye can reach.

Prague 11: a cultural centre that conveys the habitants the envy to set a foot outside. Zahrada is an open garden with doors wide open in front of you welcoming you to make you feel at home.

The shopping centre in Chodov has found a competitor in the appropriation of public’s space. Cultural practice steps over the consumer’s culture. Image Aiguë‘s project, in partnership with Zahrada contributes to open Prague 11, modestly, slowly….. Europe begins there as well…
