2008-2009 Europe starts here or there, a new European course

This project is a European artistic event conceived and produced by the Compagnie Image Aiguë in the three countries assuming the next presidencies of the European Union: France, the Check Republic and Sweden. The theatre is at the core of this event, as a mean of sharing values and a way of learning how to live in common. For Image Aiguë the challenge is to invent together a new common language. The creation of the new performance by Christiane Véricel, “Ici là-bas” and the international tour are a big challenge and also especially for this occasion, the action of putting together young artists.

There are also other artistic and cultural actions around this performance such as the publication of multilingual magazines, the production of short films and the co-organisation beside the initiative "A soul for Europe" and the Foundation Felix Meritis of the first Lyon Forum “Une Âme pour l'Europe”a soul for Europe.

This Forum is part of the series of Forums called “Une Âme pour l'Europe” a soul for Europe, initiated and organised by the civil society, realised in Belgrade and Pècs in 2007, in Skopje in April 2008 and in Belgrade in September 2008. This project consist in gathering local groups of citizens, representatives of the cultural and economic world as well as parliamentarians and other political leaders in order to share European and international points of view over the concept “A soul for Europe” as a contribution to the European “culture for democracy”.

From January 2008 to December 2009, the actions of the Company will come to light thanks to the partnership with: - Les Célestins, Théâtre of Lyon- Le Trident- National stage of Cherbourg- The “Théatre des 2 Rives” regional drama centre of the Haute-Normandie- The KC Zahrada in Prague- The Unga Klara-Stadteatern of Stockholm-The Festival Reminiscencje of Krakow- Anadolu kültür and the NGO S.K.Y.G.D in Istanbul.
